MAJ Andrew D. Byers

Project 33 Memorial Foundation is proud to announce our 2022 Honoree, U.S. Army Special Forces Officer Major Andrew D. Byers. Assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Major Byers was killed in action during his third deployment, on November 3, 2016 in the Kunduz Province, Afghanistan from small arms fire.

A WNY native, Byers was born on September 2, 1986 to David and Rosemarie Byers. A 2004 Graduate of Clarence High School, Byers followed his dream to attend the U. S. Military Academy at West Point.

With the blessing of the Byers family, Project 33 Memorial Foundation will host our 5th Memorial Day run in honor of Major Byers. Funds raised during our 2022 campaign will be donated to Folds of Honor at the request of the family.

Folds of Honor is a nonprofit organization that helps provide the families of the fallen and disabled service members educational scholarships.

5th Annual Memorial Day Run

*May 30, 2022

A Memorial Run from the Town of Hamburg Park (Hamburg Beach) to Hamburg Brewing Company. Total distance of 6.8 Miles. Not a race, just a community run to raise awareness for our fellow Special Operations members who were KIA. The flag will lead the way. Come hang and party with us afterwards at the Brewery for mingling and beer at the Buffalo Blues Veteran’s Benefit.

Only one rule to run with Project 33; the flag represents the fallen, and no runner will pass the flag. Come dressed in your patriotic spirit and bring your endurance
