In 2014, he graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant. After attending the Military Free Fall Parachute Course, he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group, Fort Carson, Colorado. He deployed to Chad in 2015
SFC Gloyer was serving in an Operational Detachment - Alpha in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group in Afghanistan when he was killed by small arms fire in Kunduz Province. He was supporting an anti-Taliban operation with the Afghan National Army.
With the blessing of the Gloyer family, Project 33 Memorial Foundation will host our 9th Memorial Day run in honor of SFC Gloyer. While Project 33 typically partners with 501(c)(3) organizations, this year at request of Ryan's family - proceeds will be directed to the designated recipient connected directly to Ryan's story. This decision reflects our commitment to honoring each family's wishes while staying rooted in our mission of service, remembrance, and impact.

9th Annual Memorial Day Run
*May 25, 2026
A Memorial Run from the Town of Hamburg Park (Hamburg Beach) to Hamburg Brewing Company. Total distance of 6.8 Miles. Not a race, just a community run to raise awareness for our fellow Special Operations members who were KIA. The flag will lead the way. Come hang and party with us afterwards at the Brewery for mingling and beer at the Buffalo Blues Veteran’s Benefit.
Only one rule to run with Project 33; the flag represents the fallen, and no runner will pass the flag. Come dressed in your patriotic spirit and bring your endurance
